Clay Penguins Tutorial: How to Make Your Cake Topper

With a few tools and material and just a few steps, you can make your own cute penguins cake toppers by this tutorial.

Thanks to ccarolee’s blog, now you can DIY your cake topper.

You should prepare the following material and tool.

1) Clay. The most common clay you can find in the market is FIMO.

2) Paint and brush.

Ok all is ready, let go.

Clay I said before. Oh, I forgot, sculpey is also good. Sculpey or Fimo, both are very similar in texture.

use blue clay to shape the penguin bodies… and then bake them at 230 degrees for 30 min as the fimo clay directions say to do ( Tip: before you make you final work, make some experiment with your oven to make sure the temperature is too high or too low)

Brush the white coat with paint and brush

Here are the coats, brush more to make it look more opaque.

Create feet and beaks with another clay.

Use black paint and toothpics to do the eyes. it’s pretty easy to mess up the eyes, so be care.
